River of Life Community Outreach, “Where the River Meets the Streets” Recap
Saturday. March 14th at the River of Life Community Outreach, “Where the River Meets the Streets” (Ezekiel 47:9 JUB), was truly God’s success.
We gathered at Alexander Park with one mission: to serve with love, unity, and purpose. Through blessing bags, smiles, laughter, worship, prayer, and simply taking time to listen, we met people right where they were. We heard from a young man carrying a heavy burden and just needing someone to listen. And in that moment, God showed up. Not only was the community blessed, but we were strengthened as a team. It reminded us that when we come together in unity, we grow stronger. Teamwork really is God’s work.
When we transitioned to the Greyhound Bus Station, the impact remained powerful. Every blessing bag was packed with love and prayer. We saw lives touched in real time. One woman received a new pair of shoes and walked away with so much joy and confidence; it lit up the entire moment. Something that seemed small turned into something big. Snack bags helped meet immediate needs, easing hunger and thirst, even if just for that moment. Bibles were placed into hands, and prayers were shared. Seeds were planted, and hope was given.
This day brought to life the scripture in Matthew 25:35–40, where Jesus reminds us that when we feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, and care for those in need, we are doing it unto Him. That is what this outreach was about: serving people as if we were serving Christ Himself. It was not about us, but about being available and allowing God to use us as vessels.
We are so thankful for every volunteer, every donor, and every person who supported this outreach. Special thanks to Tandric Bowden, Darwin and Derita Groves, Pastor Corey and Carol Fortson, and Montez Mattison for their service. We also appreciate Jessica Daniels, Pastor Yvette Clark, Yaunie Douglas, and others who financially blessed the mission. A special thank you to the Bank of America team in Snellville, especially Debborah, the branch manager, and Fasika, the business solutions advisor, for their team donations. We also appreciate Keasha and the Greyhound bus station team, as well as the neighborhood corner store owner and team, for their kind support in allowing us to park in the area to serve.
At the end of the day, it wasn’t just about what we gave out physically; it was about being Christ representatives and, through that, how people felt seen and cared for. We reminded people just like us that God has not forgotten them.
Through conversations, laughter, smiles, and embracement. We are grateful, humbled, and honored to serve. To God be All the Glory!
